Off Campus Positions:

 

Londonderry Fire Department
Londonderry, NH

Position #1: Fire Prevention Clerical Support
Hours: 10-20 hrs/wk
Pay-rate: $10/hour

Provide clerical support for the fire prevention bureau. Duties may include data entry, word processing, filing, answering telephones and taking messages.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have transportation to and from the Londonderry Fire Department; basic computer, key board, and organizational skills and the ability to work with the current filing systems; good telephone and communication skills are necessary.


Region 10 Community Support Services, Inc.
Atkinson, NH

Position #1: Respite Support
Hours: flexible, 10-20 hrs/month
Pay Rate: $11-14/hr

Provide in-home support and respite assistance for a few hours a week and/or month for a client’s child with a developmental disability. Some families want assistance in the home while others are looking for someone to provide supervision and support for their children to participate in community activities. Respite services provide family members with “respite ” break from caretaking responsibilities. If interested, your contact information will be provided to interested families. Families will interview and hire and will provide any needed training specific to the needs of their children.


Qualifications: Flexibility-specific responsibilities and work schedules will vary family to family. Requires experience with children; prefer experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities; Successful completion of related courses such as Developmental Disabilities, Early Child Development, Therapeutic Services (OT, PT, Recreation, etc.) May be required to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and proof of insurance for some support situations.


Position #2: Recreation Facilitator
Hours: 6-10 hrs/month
Pay Rate: $11/hr

Work as a member of the social/recreation team under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator. Provide supervision and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to enable their participation in community social and recreations activities. Assist individuals to develop and maintain friendships. Activities generally occur evenings and weekends. Each activity generally involves 3-5 hours of time dependent upon the type of activity and location. Two or more activities are scheduled each month.

Qualifications: Preference given to individuals who experience working with or caring for children or adults with developmental disabilities; successful completion of related courses described in position #1.

Position #3: Quality Improvement Data Entry Assistant
Hours: 8 hrs/wk
Pay Rate: $11/hr

Assist in the gathering and entering of data related to Quality Improvement such as incident reports, certification results, etc.

Qualifications: Ability to enter data accurately; knowledge of Word, Excel and Access

Position #1:
After school Program Instructor (20 positions available)
Hours: 2-20/week, 8-30 weeks
Pay Rate: $10/hr

Assist students with homework or sports. Other positions include overseeing the implementation of after school enrichment programs (e.g. homework, cooking, sports, dance, art, science, etc.) that meet once per week for 8 weeks. Instructors will lead programs that suit their individual talents and skills. These programs are offered to students in grades 5-8.

Qualifications: Enthusiastic about working with youth; interest in youth-related career preferred.

 

ON CAMPUS POSITIONS

Admissions

Position #1:
Student Ambassadors (3 positions available)
Hours: 2-6 hours/week -2 term commitment
Payrate: $7.25/hr

Student Ambassadors will work along with admissions staff to give perspective student tours, follow up (email, mail, or phone calls), phone campaigns, representing UNH Manchester at college fairs, high school visits, on-and-off campus information sessions and a variety of other admissions activities.

Qualifications: Students in good academic standing with the ability to engage and effectively communicate with potential students.


Summer Work-Study Positions

Position #1:
Computer Lab Assistan
Hours: Flexible (minimum of 4 hours/week, maximum of 20 hours/week) Pay-rate: $8/hour

Support student and faculty with use of lab facility. Duties may include delivering and picking up A/V equipment, opening and closing lab as needed, and ensuring a safe, clean and orderly lab environment.

Minimum Qualifications: Good knowledge of Windows/MS Office environments. UNH Manchester CIS coursework strongly recommended. Ability to think on your feet and instruct/inform users when needed.
