UNH Manchester welcomes students with prior college experience to our college community. Whether you enrolled for one semester last fall or completed three years two decades ago, we encourage you to learn how UNH Manchester can help you achieve your goals today. Traditional-age and adult students realize that UNH Manchester meets them where they are and they achieve more than they ever thought possible.

We understand that people change. Sometimes the best plans don't work out. Many students tell us their first choice school was simply a bad fit or that they tired of on-campus life and want an urban environment. Other students were excited to go away to college but found it hard to be far from family and friends. Many students appreciate that UNH Manchester is a more affordable way to achieve their goals. Other students return to college after raising families or military service and choose UNH Manchester because we offer a flexible and affordable education that will prepare them for their future.

UNH Manchester has established agreements with area colleges making the transfer process simple. These agreements outline what credits students can transfer to UNH Manchester degree programs and graduation requirements. For more information contact the office of admissions.

Transferring to a new college can be challenging and it can be time consuming. We encourage you to start the process as early as possible. We are here to help.

Transfer Application process:

  • Complete the admission application on paper or on line and submit to the UNH Manchester Office of Admission.
  • Official transcripts from each college you have attended must be submitted. Request an official transcript from the registrar of each college you have attended. Forward official transcripts to the Office of Admissions, 400 Commercial Street, Manchester, NH 03101-1113.
  • Students who have attended accredited colleges are eligible to receive credit in transfer for courses completed with grades of "C" or better in courses comparable to those offered by the University of New Hampshire.

Once your application is complete and all documents have been received, your application will be reviewed. The admissions committee looks favorably on transfer applicants who have taken challenging and diverse coursework and how those courses fulfill the university's general education requirements. Achievement trends and special circumstances are carefully considered.

Students who earn an associate degree through UNH Manchester may pursue baccalaureate study at the University's Manchester or Durham campuses. Admission to a bachelor's degree program is guaranteed when students complete the last 16 credits of the associate degree with a gradepoint average of at least 2.5, earn a cumulative associate degree gradepoint average of at least 2.5, and receive a positive letter of recommendation from their academic advisor. The University does not guarantee admission to a particular college or program in Durham. UNH Manchester students who seek admission to a bachelor's degree program before gaining an associate degree are considered along with other candidates in the general transfer applicant pool and, therefore, are not guaranteed admission.
