MyUNH PORTAL

Access to WebMail, Blackboard Course Materials, and WebCat

A portal is a gateway to UNH MANCHESTER electronic services. The portal allows students, faculty and staff to manage academic and extracurricular activities and other online resources in one customizable environment. MY UNH provides students with access to WebMail, Blackboard course materials and WebCat for course registration and grades. All the portal services are available through a Web browser that you can use at home, work, or the computer labs.

  • Check the Portal frequently for news and announcements as well as your course work. Not all courses will have Blackboard activities, but there are important announcements on the Portal so you should login to MyUNH regularly.

Portal Username and Password

Every UNH MANCHESTER student receives a Portal username. Find yours at http://myunh.unh.edu. Select the Login Help tab and Click the link to "New at UNH." Follow the directives to locate your username. First time users also need to create a password. Select the option for "Need Help Logging In" and complete the information. Complete the Security Question option in this process so you can reset your own password in the future. If you can't create a new password, bring a photo-ID to the computer lab (Rm114) to have your account reset.

Access your UNH Manchester Blackboard Username and Password

Every student who is admitted to the University of New Hampshire at either the Durham or Manchester campus or who is registered to take a class will have a username for the electronic services at the MYUNH Portal (Blackboard). Everyone-students, faculty and staff- must use the "self-service" menu program to locate his/her username and create a complex password before logging into the portal. Faculty members also have a username and should use the same self service program to access their username and the portal.

To locate your Username and create a Password follow these directions:

  • Open the portal page in your browser window at http://myunh.unh.edu
  • Select the "Login Help" tab and choose "New User." Follow the prompts for information to learn your username and create a complex password. (If the form does not accept your middle name, try your middle initial or leaving the middle name field blank.)
  • Be sure to create a Security Question in this section so you can reset the password yourself in the future.
  • If you know your username but forgot your password, select the option "Need Help Logging in" and use your security question to reset your password.
  • Forgot your security question? Check the self help prompt.

Read your UNH email!

You receive important notices about tuition billing, notices, schedules, programs, and important UNH MANCHESTER events through UNH email.

It is very important to note that your UNH Email Address is the official means of electronic communication with UNH Manchester. Your UNH Email Address is considered your official email account.

Don't miss out on important information you need to be successful at UNH Manchester.

Are You an Exception?

  • Adjunct Faculty: you may experience delays if employment documentation is not completed and entered into the HR database. Call 641-4127 to report problems logging in.
  • Non-degree students: your account will be active 24 to 48 hrs after you register and pay for your courses.
  • If all else fails, come to the Computer Lab during operational hours for personal assistance or call UNH Help desk (862-4242). Accounts cannot be reset over the phone or email.

MyUNH

Use Blackboard Drop Box for Storage

You can add files to the drop box and retrieve them at any location for future use. This is an effective means of saving files to use at home and school. Avoid print charges by saving files to the drop box and using them at home or work for reference and reading. Locate the DropBox under the Tools option in the left menu of Blackboard.

See www.unh.edu/blackboard/gettingstarted.html for details on setting up your computer for Blackboard.
