Manchester Undergraduate Project Support

The Manchester Undergraduate Project Support (MUPS) fund is available to undergraduate students to provide modest institutional support to assist in research activities. For the purpose of this award, research is defined broadly. It may include scientific investigation, scholarly exploration, creative works, or community outreach. Funds can be used for legitimate expenses related to undergraduate student projects. This fund will support expenses such as materials, supplies, travel, attendance at professional meetings, and/or to present undergraduate student work. Manchester Undergraduate Project Support is intended to supplement not replace other types of undergraduate research assistance, such as UROP or SURF awards, INCO 590, and other University assistance.

Each semester, students may request between $25 and $500. The official funding cycle is at the beginning of each semester during the academic year and students will be notified of their funding status by the drop date for that semester. Students may apply more than once for student research support, though students who have not previously received the award will have priority. Any funds not awarded during the official funding cycle may be utilized to fulfill requests throughout the semester and/or summer on an as needed basis.
