  • Parking is available within easy walking distance to University Center.
  • UNH Manchester students have free access to Manchester Transit Authority buses by showing their UNH Manchester ID card.
  • Information boards on the first floor of University Center display car pool and ride-sharing information, however, ride services and requests listed on this board are not endorsed by the University, but are listed as a service to students to use at their own discretion

From the Seacoast

Head west on Route 101 to Route 293 North. Continue and take Exit 5. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp to Granite Street. At the first set of lights, turn left on to Commercial Street. The University Center is at 400 Commercial Street, approximately one-half mile on the left.

From Route 293 North to Exit 5

Turn right at the bottom of the ramp on to Granite Street. At the first set of lights, turn left on to Commercial Street. The University Center is approximately one-half mile on the left.

From Route 293 South to Exit 5

From Route 293 South take the new Exit 5 (Granite St.). Take a left onto Granite St. and stay in the left lane. At light take a left on Commercial Street. UNH Manchester is 1/2 mile on the left.

From Route 293 South to Exit 6

Follow the signs over the Amoskeag Bridge. Turn right at the fork on to Canal Street. At the first set of lights, turn right on to Commercial Street. The University Center is approximately one-half mile on the right.

Directions to the New Hampshire Institute of Art

From the University Center head North on Commercial Street, passing Fratello's Ristorante Italiana, until you reach the lights. Go straight through the lights onto Brook Street. At the lights take a right onto Elm Street. Follow Elm Street until the first set of lights. Take a left onto Bridge Street. Follow Bridge Street until the third set of lights. Take a right onto Union Street.

If you are going to the Main Building, take the third right off Union Street to Concord Street. The Main Building is the second building on the right, 148 Concord Street.. If you are going to the Fuller Building, take the fifth right off of Union Street onto Hanover Street. The Fuller Building is on the right hand side after the first set of lights, 156 Hanover Street.

Directions to Elliot Hospital

From Downtown Manchester

From Elm Street, take Valley Street east. Take a left onto Tarrytown Road. From Tarrytown Road, turn left onto Elliot Way. This positions you onto Elliot Way, which leads to the hospital. To the Emergency Department/Express Care, continue straight on Tarrytown Road. Take a left onto Auburn Street. Turn left into the Emergency/Express Care entrance. Parking is available on the left.

From the North

Take 93 South, bear right after tollbooth to Exit 8 (Wellington Road). Take a right at end of exit (traffic light). Turn left at next set of traffic lights, then through two more sets of traffic lights. Take next right onto Nelson Street. Go straight to the stop sign and across Tarrytown Road. This positions you onto Elliot Way, which leads to the hospital.

From the South (Derry/Salem/Londonderry area)

South of Manchester, the highway divides (93 & 293). Stay on 93 and then take Exit #6 (Candia Road). Left at the first set of traffic lights. Stay on Candia Road about 1 mile and take a right at the next set of traffic lights. Go straight at next set of traffic lights and take a left onto Nelson Street. Go straight to the stop sign and across Tarrytown Road. This positions you onto Elliot Way, which leads to the hospital.

From Massachusetts and Southern NH

In Massachusetts, take Route 3 North. Route 3 changes name to Everett Turnpike at the NH State Line. Take first exit after tollbooth (Route 101 East/293). Stay on 101 East, which merges onto 93 North, continue approximately 1/2 mile to Exit #6 (Candia Road). Take a left at the first set of traffic lights. Stay on Candia Road about 1 mile and take a right at the next set of traffic lights. Go straight at next set of traffic lights and take a left onto Nelson Street. Go straight to the stop sign and across Tarrytown Road. This positions you onto Elliot Way, which leads to the hospital.

From the West

Take 101 East to 293 South. Turn onto I-93 North to Exit #6 (Candia Road). Take a left at the first set of traffic lights. Stay on Candia Road about 1 mile and take a right at the next set of traffic lights. Go straight at next set of traffic lights and take a left onto Nelson Street. Go straight to the stop sign and across Tarrytown Road. This positions you onto Elliot Way, which leads to the hospital.

From the East

Parking Options & Permits at UNH Manchester

A mandatory Parking/Security fee of $20 is required of all registered students at UNH Manchester. This fee will be assessed each semester. This fee will entitle you to a parking permit.

Students May Not Park In Neighboring Millyard Businesses Private Parking Lots/Spaces. They Will Be Suject To Warning, Ticketing And/Or Tow.

The lot surrounding the University Center is permit parking for Faculty & Staff, see map. This lot also contains designated visitor and handicapped parking. Handicapped spaces require an authorized state permit or license plate.  Unauthorized vehicles parked in this lot are subject to towing.

The main entrance and elevator access is on the building's ground floor. Persons with disabilities should plan to enter the building through the rear entrance (on the river side) adjacent to the Arms Park lot.

The information provided below will assist you in finding Visitor Parking when coming to the University of New Hampshire at Manchester. Visitor Parking at UNH Manchester is limited. There are five (5) Visitor Parking spaces located just outside the riverside Main Entrance door. These are available on a first come first serve basis. The linked map shows the locations of Visitor Parking. Below is a description of these locations:

  • VISITORS MAY NOT PARK IN THE UNH MANCHESTER FACULTY/STAFF AREAS.
  • VISITORS MAY NOT PARK IN “YELLOW ZONE PARKING ONLY” SPACES.
  • CARS PARKED IN THE AREAS LISTED ABOVE WITHOUT THE APPROPRIATE CORRESPONDING PERMIT, ARE SUBJECT TO WARNING, TICKET AND/OR TOW.

INFORMATION:
Pay & Display Meters are automated parking meters that replace the multiple parking meters on a block. All visitors PAY the automated parking meters and DISPLAY the payment receipt on the dashboard of their vehicle.

  • All Pay & Display Meters accept coin & credit cards, but there is a minimum credit card purchase of $1.00 or 2 hours.
  • Pay & Display Parking is enforced Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm.
  • If a parking citation is issued and the permit was used in accordance with the rules stated above, please contact the City of Manchester Traffic Violations Bureau at 624-6546.
